QUALITY MATTERS
To further our commitment to quality child care and education, Sunshine Early Childhood Center is in the early stages of participation in the following MSDE quality enhancement programs:
- Maryland EXCELS
Evaluates the child care program based on criteria in five competency areas
(1) Licensing Compliance, (2) Professional Development, (3) Accreditation,
(4) Developmentally Appropriate Practices and (5) Administrative Practices.
- Maryland Accreditation
Evaluates the child care program based on excellence in three areas:
(1) Program Administration, (2) Program Operation and (3) Home and
Community Partnerships.
- Maryland Child Care Credential Program
Evaluates child care staff based on experience, education, continued annual
training, and professional activities.
