HOW WE KEEP CHILDREN SAFE

Security

The entrance requires a door code for families and staff. This safety feature protects children and staff throughout the day.

In addition, there is an alarm system and cameras to allow complete monitoring of the facility, ensuring that children and staff are safe and secure.

Visitors are required to present photo identification and sign-in upon entering the facility.

Temperature & Wellness Checks

During drop-off, each child's temperature is checked.

Wellness checks are done for all children throughout the day.

Parents are notified if

their child is exhibiting any

symptoms of illness.

Face Masks

Face masks are worn to prevent the spread of germs and illness, as necessary.

Handwashing

Frequent handwashing with

soap and water is practiced throughout the day, including upon arrival, before and after meal prep, before and after staff breaks, before and after meals, after outdoor play, after classroom activities, after

using the bathroom, and after

coughing, sneezing

and blowing a nose.

Cleaning and Disinfecting

A daily cleaning routine is implemented to clean and disinfect all frequently touched surfaces and objects/materials throughout the day.

These include, but are not limited to, classroom materials,

tables and chairs, bathrooms, diapering area, food prep areas, light switches, door handles, floors, etc.

Illness

We follow guidance for illness and COVID-19 symptoms, isolation, and quarantine provided by the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) and the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).

Playground Safety

Children are actively

supervised at all times

during outdoor play.

The playground is regularly checked for safety and disinfected to prevent the

spread of germs and illness.

Sleep Safety

Nap checks are conducted

daily during children's rest/nap period.

Emergency Preparedness

Fire drills are conducted monthly and other emergency drills are practiced twice a year.

First Aid/CPR/AED

All Staff are adult and pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certified.

The classroom and facility are equipped with first aid

kits for "boo boos."

Staff who are medication administration certified are

on-site at all times.
